About the role
D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Senior Product Manager, Data Platform. In this role, you will lead a product team of about 7 engineers and quality engineers, supported by a Scrum Master, from foundational data capabilities into a marketing activation platform. In your first year, you will own the roadmap for data ingestion, modeling, and dashboards (R1), building the customer entity, identity, and event foundations that marketing depends on. As that foundation matures, you will lead the same team into building self-service tooling for audiences, journeys, triggered and broadcast programs, dynamic content, and a next-best action decisioning engine. You will plan every data investment backward from the marketing use cases it enables, and you will work side by side with our Data Science team to make sure their models can plug into the decisioning engine. This is an in-office role in our Arlington, TX office.
Data Foundation (primary focus early on)
•
Own the roadmap, backlog, and user stories for data ingestion, modeling, and marketing data products, working directly with data engineers
•
Define data contracts, data quality SLAs, and source onboarding priorities
•
Establish the customer entity, identity resolution approach, and event taxonomy that marketing activation depends on
Activation Platform (growing focus over time)
•
Define the vision, strategy, and capability map for the marketing activation platform, including audience tooling, journey orchestration infrastructure, triggered and broadcast frameworks, dynamic content zones, and a next best action decisioning engine
•
Partner with the Data Science team to define the integration contract for how models feed decisioning, so new models can ship without custom integration
•
Design self-service capabilities with the guardrails, permissions, and governance marketers need to move quickly without creating conflicting journeys or over-messaging customers
Product Management and Delivery
•
Gather and analyze business, marketer, and data science needs to inform prioritization
•
Create and maintain requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications
•
Partner with Delivery, Data Science, Marketing, Operations, and IT to plan and execute sprints, resolve issues, and manage release scope
•
Define success measures with stakeholders, including data freshness and quality, marketer adoption, and time-to-launch for new audiences and journeys
•
Review and validate delivered capabilities against requirements
•
Communicate status, progress, and risks to leadership and key stakeholders
•
Support training, documentation, and rollout for marketers and other platform users
•
Research emerging trends, technologies, and competitor capabilities
•
Participate in Agile ceremonies and product demonstrations as needed
•
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Supervisory Responsibilities
•
This role has no direct reports. You will lead the product team’s direction and priorities through influence and clear product leadership.
