Job Summary
Responsible for extracting knowledge and insights from high volume, high dimensional data in order to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, which may include the use of advanced statistical analysis, algorithms, predictive modeling, experimentation and pattern recognition to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance. Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. The team is composed of experts in artificial intelligence, deep learning, data-structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and system performance and analysis. The systems that the team builds get used across the multitude of Company data science-based services and deployments. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
•
Commercial data science experience, with 3+ years delivering end‑to‑end data science projects, from exploratory data analysis and feature engineering through to model development, validation and translation of results into actionable insights.
•
Strong data manipulation and modelling skills, including experience in feature extraction, feature development and data modelling techniques.
•
Solid Python background, with experience writing clean, modular and maintainable code following best practices such as abstraction, exception handling and testing to support long‑term maintainability.
•
Advanced SQL capability, particularly for data exploration, reporting, feature creation and extraction, and integration with analytical workflows.
•
Experience in data visualisation and dashboarding, using frameworks such as Grafana or Superset to support business use cases.
•
Ability to mentor and support colleagues, with experience guiding and supporting junior to mid‑level data scientists.
•
Comfortable working in Agile environments, with experience participating in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
•
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
•
Preferred Qualifications
•
Familiarity with cloud data platforms, including experience with products such as BigQuery, CloudSQL and similar solutions.
•
Networking or telecommunications domain knowledge, with an understanding of network infrastructure, operations or service monitoring environments.
•
Exposure to monitoring and observability tools, such as Prometheus, or similar metrics‑based monitoring platforms.
•
Experience in one or more of the following analytics and machine learning areas: time‑series forecasting, anomaly detection, and correlation analysis, using either traditional statistical techniques or deep‑learning‑based approaches
