Job Description:
Microchip has an opportunity at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon for a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Technician in the Facilities Site Services department. The ideal candidate will have an overall general knowledge of facilities plant operations and maintenance. This opening is on the compressed front night shift (Sun, Mon, Tue and every other Sat, 6:00 PM - 6:15 AM).
Essential Functions:
•
Ensures operation of facilities controls systems, buildings and equipment within cleanroom quality parameters and environmental discharge permit limitations.
•
Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation and control systems.
•
Respond to site life safety and control system alarms.
•
Provide support with instrumentation configuration and programming, and maintain associated written documents and reports.
•
Provide timely response and follow-up to all correspondence, maintaining open lines of communication with team members, engineering and management.
•
Provide suggestions for improvement to operations and maintenance activities to enhance system performance, consistency, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
•
Assist supervisors in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned areas.
•
Perform additional duties as assigned, assisting other trades as required.

Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors, dust or gases.
