The Accounting Specialist aids in processing claims and receivables and facilitating collections for AAA Moving and Storage. This is an in-person position at our Anchorage, AK facility. Compensation will be $23-$25 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Functions and Duties:
•
Post receivables into accounting software subsequent to appropriate research of the payment.
•
Process credit card payments for monthly storage after verifying invoices have been generated and posted to accounting software.
•
Ensure collections efforts are conducting according to the regulations of the State of Alaska and the state within which the customer resides.
•
Assemble paperwork to send to attorney for collection purposes, as needed.
•
Work assigned shifts.
•
Other responsibilities, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, company software
•
Knowledge of, or ability to learn accounting software
•
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating over the phone and through writing
•
Knowledge of accounting/general bookkeeping procedures
•
Knowledge and/or proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
Required Education and Experience:
•
Required: High school diploma
•
Preferred: Prior receivables experience
•
Preferred: Prior collections experience
