Available Location: Singapore
This role is based in Singapore and supports strategic customers and partners across Greater China and APJC. Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required to lead technical and executive conversations in both languages for clients based in the two regions. Travel of up to 30% is expected, primarily within APJC, including mainland China.

About the Role
As Principal Solutions Architect for Developer Platform, you will own the regional technical strategy for Cloudflare’s most important Developer Platform customer and partner engagements.
You will work with engineering leaders, architects, developers, security teams, and executives to define architectures, validate technical approaches, and move production workloads onto Cloudflare. You will operate across a portfolio of strategic engagements rather than focusing on a single account or project.
A central part of the role is turning field experience into broader impact. You will create reusable architectures and technical guidance, develop other architects, and provide product teams with clear evidence about regional customer needs.
This is a senior individual-contributor role combining hands-on architecture, executive influence, regional technical leadership, and mentorship. It reports to the Director of Developer GTM, APJC.
What You’ll Do
•
Own the technical strategy for strategic Developer Platform customers and partners.
•
Translate business, application, security, and operational requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable architectures on Cloudflare.
•
Lead architecture discovery, technical workshops, proofs of concept, design reviews, and production-readiness discussions.
•
Advise engineering executives and other senior stakeholders on application modernization, distributed systems, AI architecture, and platform strategy.
•
Establish reference architectures, architectural standards, and governance patterns that can be reused across customers and the APJC field organization.
•
Remain hands-on by building, reviewing, and troubleshooting representative applications and integrations.
•
Serve as a regional Developer Platform technical leader through presentations, public speaking, written guidance, and internal enablement.
•
Mentor solutions architects and other technical colleagues working on complex customer engagements.
•
Partner with sales, product management, Developer Relations, and marketing on account strategy, product launches, customer evidence, and technical content.
•
Build effective feedback loops between customers, field teams, and product leaders, translating regional needs into actionable product and go-to-market recommendations.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you will:
•
Become a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers, partners, and internal leaders.
•
Establish clear technical strategies and adoption plans for priority Developer Platform engagements.
•
Help customers validate and launch production workloads on Cloudflare.
•
Publish reference architectures and field guidance that are reused across accounts and teams.
•
Improve the field organization’s ability to position, architect, and deliver Cloudflare developer and AI solutions.
•
Develop the technical leadership of architects and other colleagues through mentorship and enablement.
•
Provide product teams with consistent, evidence-based insight into regional customer requirements and adoption barriers.
•
Be recognized as a leading Developer Platform architect across APJC.
What We’re Looking For
•
Substantial experience in solutions architecture, software engineering, technical consulting, or a related customer-facing technical role. Successful candidates will typically bring 15 or more years of relevant experience, although demonstrated scope and impact matter more than a specific number of years.
•
Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to lead technical and executive discussions in both languages to support clients in the Greater China region.
•
Experience owning complex technical strategies involving developers, platform or infrastructure teams, security stakeholders, and senior executives.
•
Deep knowledge of distributed application architecture, including compute, storage, networking, security, reliability, and observability.
•
Hands-on software-development experience, including the ability to build or review production-quality applications and proofs of concept.
•
Experience with modern web technologies and at least one widely used programming ecosystem, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript.
•
Strong understanding of serverless or cloud-native architectures, modern software-delivery practices, and at least one major public cloud platform.
•
A record of influencing without direct authority, mentoring technical colleagues, and turning individual solutions into reusable organizational capabilities.
•
Excellent written, presentation, facilitation, and technical-communication skills across developer, architectural, and executive audiences.
•
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, primarily within APJC, including mainland China.
Nice-to-Have
•
Experience building and operating production applications on Cloudflare’s Developer Platform.
•
Experience designing AI inference, agentic, retrieval-augmented generation, or data-intensive applications.
•
Experience working with customers, technology partners, or developer communities in Greater China.
•
A record of public speaking, technical writing, open-source contribution, or developer-community leadership.
•
Relevant cloud or architecture certifications.
•
A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
