About the Role
We’re seeking a Data Collection Supervisor to support a variety of video-based data collection projects that help train the next generation of AI models. This individual contributor role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a knack for technology, and wants a flexible part-time opportunity close to the city.
As a Data Collection Supervisor, you’ll guide participants through video recording tasks, troubleshoot equipment and software, and make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Some sessions will take place in specific lighting conditions (such as after dark or late afternoon), so flexibility is important.
Key Responsibilities
•
Supervise and instruct participants during recording sessions
•
Use Appen’s tools and equipment to run data collection projects
•
Monitor project trackers and report progress to the Data Collection Lead
•
Communicate with participants (in-person, via email, or phone)
•
Provide light troubleshooting support with software and equipment
•
Set up participant payments and maintain accurate records
•
Handle all participant and project information with confidentiality
Hours of Work
This is a casual hourly role and will be based on project requirements. Most weeks will involve a minimum of two to three days of work (15-21 hours of work per week) but there may be quiet periods.
