The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the regular and rigorous day-to-day financial management, including bookkeeping, budget monitoring, financial reporting and compliance with IITA and World Bank procedures, as well as providing administrative support related to finance. The Station Accountant reports hierarchically to the Project Head of Mission.
Duties:
•
Prepare and review project financial reports.
•
Review partners’ financial report and prepare financial justification.
•
Attend to queries raised by Budget Officers regarding projects and fund status.
•
Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets.
•
Raise journals for necessary adjustments on various accounts and load them into Oracle.
•
Update, review, and reconcile bills receivables from donors with the total grants income of projects.
•
Support the institute’s annual audit with relevant schedules and respond to audit queries.
•
Promptly promote the month-end budget monitoring report.
•
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
University degree at Bac+4 level (Master’s degree or equivalent) Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other related field
Nice to have
Experience in the accounting management of projects funded by international donors is an asset.
