About the role
Breeze is looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with a strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or DevOps background to help scale and secure a rapidly growing technology environment.
This is not a traditional security analyst role. We’re seeking an engineer who enjoys building, automating, and operating security platforms at scale. You’ll work at the intersection of cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, reliability engineering, automation, and incident response. Your mission will be to reduce risk, eliminate manual work, improve visibility, and enable the business to move faster and more securely.
Here’s what you’ll do
•
Security Platform Engineering
•
Design, implement, and maintain cloud security capabilities across AWS environments.
•
Own and optimize key cybersecurity platforms and integrations.
•
Build scalable security controls using Infrastructure as Code and automation.
•
Develop reliable processes for vulnerability management and remediation tracking.
•
Security Automation & Reliability
•
Identify repetitive security tasks and automate them.
•
Build workflows, integrations, and orchestration to improve operational efficiency.
•
Create tooling that enables security to scale without proportional headcount growth.
•
Improve the reliability, availability, and performance of security infrastructure.
•
Detection & Response Engineering
•
Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and detection capabilities.
•
Build security telemetry pipelines and observability solutions.
•
Improve incident response processes through automation and engineering.
•
Conduct investigations and support cybersecurity incident response activities.
•
Cloud & Infrastructure Security
•
Partner with infrastructure, development, and application teams to secure cloud-native workloads.
•
Review architectural designs and implement security best practices.
•
Strengthen identity, access management, and privileged access controls.
•
Help establish security standards for emerging technologies and platforms.
•
Collaboration & Leadership
•
Serve as a technical leader within the cybersecurity organization.
•
Mentor junior engineers and help elevate engineering maturity across the team.
•
Work closely with platform, infrastructure, compliance, and software engineering teams.
•
Translate security requirements into practical engineering solutions.
