About the company
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.
About the role
As senior accountant supporting Financial Reporting and Global Consolidations, you will contribute to both the consolidations and external reporting cycle for our complex global organization. You will own assigned accounting and reporting areas, collaborate with teams across Starbucks to resolve accounting matters, and help deliver accurate, timely financial information supported by effective internal controls.
Responsibilities
As a senior accountant, Financial Reporting and Global Consolidations, you will…
-Own close and consolidation activities – Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, financial analysis and account reconciliations; investigate intercompany variances; and ensure assigned accounting records are accurate, complete and compliant with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
-Deliver financial reporting – Prepare assigned components of quarterly and annual financial statements and related deliverables in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
-Coordinate statutory reporting and audit activities – Coordinate with international accounting teams and external service providers to prepare and review statutory financial statements, supporting schedules, audit requests and regulatory reporting for international legal entities, and provide timely responses to auditors.
-Lead with knowledge – Research and advise on accounting and reporting impacts of new or proposed transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, legal entity ownership changes, stock-based compensation allocations, dividends and other significant matters.
-Innovate – Maintain and improve accounting and reporting systems, processes and internal controls, and recommend practical solutions that increase quality and efficiency.
-Partner across a global organization – Collaborate with accounting teams, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations and external service providers to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.
-Coach and develop others – Share knowledge, support cross-training and help coordinate team priorities and special projects.
-Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and drive processes forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
