About the role
Rightfiber (formerly Great Plains Communications) is seeking experienced Broadband Technicians for the Northeast NE area (see locations below). In this role, you will install and repair internet, phone, and TV services for business and residential customers while acting as a brand ambassador to provide exceptional customer experience.
The Role
•
Position: Broadband Technician
•
Locations: Fremont/Norfolk/Wayne/WestPoint/Osmond/Wakefield/Ponca and O’Neill, NE areas
•
Experience: 1–7 years in a relevant field
•
Able to work rotating weekend shifts and on-call (required)
Key Responsibilities
•
Network Services: Perform installation, splicing, and repair of internet, phone, and TV services over coax, copper and fiber systems.
•
Systems Maintenance: Help maintain mainline coax and fiber systems to ensure high performance.
•
Customer Success: Actively promote company products and services while delivering outstanding support.
•
Administrative: Interpret and complete staking sheets, work orders, maps, and cable counts.
•
Logistics & Safety: Operate company vehicles and equipment (bucket trucks), work non-standard hours (including nights/weekends/call-outs), and travel for training when needed.
What We Are Looking For
•
Experience: 1-7 years of related experience with a High School diploma or equivalent.
•
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of electronics and testing equipment (EXFO Light meters, volt-ohm meters). Fiber fusion splicing and provisioni ng experience is a plus, but training is provided.
•
Physical Aptitude: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, operate bucket trucks, dig, and maneuver in crawl spaces and attics.
•
Requirements: A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and comfortable working outside under various weather conditions.
•
Soft Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, troubleshooting, typing, and customer relations skills.
