About the company
CDE (Centralised Delivery & Enablement) is responsible for supporting software currency, vulnerability remediation, and priority technology updates across BPB and Digital services. The team drives platform stability, security, operational resilience, and technology modernization through large-scale patching, automation, and strategic uplift initiatives.
Working across AKS/EKS environments, engineers partner with Service Owners, platform teams, and domain stakeholders to maintain secure, supported, and resilient applications while delivering critical engineering outcomes that reduce technology risk and improve operational efficiency.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Software Currency & Vulnerability Management: Lead Frontend and Backend technology upgrades, dependency remediation, framework uplift, vulnerability fixes, and application patching activities across a broad portfolio of services.
•
Application Engineering & Modernization: Analyze, update, and validate application code, libraries, configurations, and platform integrations to support software currency objectives, auto-patching adoption, and strategic uplift initiatives.
•
Production & Incident Management: Support incident response, monitoring, triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration for critical banking applications.
•
Platform & Resilience Support: Manage applications across AKS/EKS, on-premises and cloud environments, including deployments, patching execution, platform upgrades, resilience improvements, and Big Rock initiatives.
•
DevOps & Automation: Enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, auto-patching capabilities, operational automation, and observability solutions to improve service reliability and engineering efficiency.
•
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver large-scale remediation and modernization programs.
•
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce operational risk, eliminate recurring issues, improve patch adoption, and strengthen platform stability and supportability.
YOUR SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
•
Significant experience in communicating and working with software teams, and working towards building inclusive, fun environments
•
Significant experience in building and operating scalable, mission-critical environments
•
Significant experience working with and supporting wider engineering teams with a variety of needs and experience levels
•
Experience with public cloud environments (Google Cloud and AWS)
•
Experience with Kubernetes
•
Experience building scalable deployment pipelines using tools like ArgoCD, GitHub, and Terraform
•
A track record of building maintainable and easy to operate systems
