Where Ambition Meets Innovation
About the company
Build a career that matches all your initiative with an impressive dose of innovation. From cutting-edge resources and a collaborative environment to the freedom to make an impact and more, you’ll find the ingredients you need at LPL Financial to shape your success while helping clients pursue their financial goals.
Job Overview:
The Assistant Vice President, AI Platform, owns the services that enable LPL teams to register AI, connect approved models, tools, and data, operate products in production, and maintain visibility into platform activity and outcomes.
This role sets the product strategy, roadmap, priorities, and operating measures for the platform. Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Supervision, Records Management, and FinOps retain ownership of specialist decisions. The platform operationalizes those decisions and records the resulting activity and evidence.
Responsibilities:
•
Own the product strategy and roadmap for the shared AI platform.
•
Maintain registries for agents, tools, models, prompts, MCP servers, and A2A workflows, including ownership, versioning, approved use, dependencies, and status.
•
Provide product teams with a defined process for registration, testing, certification, launch, monitoring, change management, suspension, and retirement.
•
Own runtime services supporting routing, access controls, policy enforcement, rate limiting, tenant and entitlement boundaries, PII handling, and AI firewall integration.
•
Establish shared approaches for knowledge access, data permissions, memory management, expiration, and deletion.
•
Provide output evaluation, production monitoring, drift detection, adversarial testing, and observability across models, tools, data, latency, failures, and workflow outcomes.
•
Partner with engineering teams on provider outages, incidents, kill switches, quarantine procedures, fallback behavior, and recovery testing.
•
Connect audit records, supervisory data, certification evidence, exceptions, and retention requirements to the responsible review teams.
•
Collect usage and cost data, apply rate limits, and provide FinOps with information supporting showback, chargeback, forecasting, and optimization.
•
Track adoption, onboarding time, availability, latency, failures, control coverage, exceptions, and cost, and use those measures to prioritize platform improvements.
What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a product leader who is motivated to pursue greatness, consistently act with integrity, and is driven to help our clients succeed through scalable technology solutions. The ideal candidate collaborates effectively across technical and business functions to win together, while helping teams innovate responsibly and create and share joy through exceptional platform experiences.
Requirements:
•
7+ years of product management experience, including ownership of a shared platform, developer platform, infrastructure product, or enterprise technical capability.
•
Experience owning product strategy, delivery, adoption, and production performance.
•
Technical fluency in APIs, gateways, identity and authorization, cloud and data architecture, distributed systems, telemetry, and AI or machine-learning platforms.
•
Experience building services used by several product and engineering teams.
•
Experience working with engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, data, Records Management, Supervision, and FinOps.
Preferences:
•
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical choices, dependencies, and production issues to senior leaders.
•
Experience with AI agents, LLM gateways, Kong, MCP, A2A, tool registries, model registries, prompt management, or policy engines.
•
Experience with AI evaluation, drift detection, red teaming, observability, or model lifecycle management.
•
Experience in financial services or another regulated industry with records, supervision, privacy, audit, and cost-allocation requirements.
