About the role
As a (Senior) Software Engineer you will be is responsible for building and supporting high-performance microservices and APIs that provide secure access to enterprise operational data. Working within a cloud-native architecture, you will develop containerised services using Spring Boot and Python, enabling real-time integration between business systems and the ODS platform.
You will play a key role in implementing modern API-led and event-driven integration patterns, helping to establish reusable services and standards that support enterprise-wide data consumption.
What will you be doing?
•
Designing, developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices and integration services.
•
Building containerised applications using Spring Boot and/or Python.
•
Developing secure, scalable and resilient API solutions supporting (ODS) Operational Data Store access and integration.
•
Building event-driven services and integrations using Kafka/MSK.
•
Creating reusable frameworks, service templates and integration patterns.
•
Integrating with upstream and downstream systems using synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns.
•
Supporting API lifecycle management, including versioning, contracts and service reliability.
•
Deploying and operating services on AWS ECS while supporting CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
•
Implementing monitoring, logging, observability and performance best practices.
•
Collaborating with Architects, Data Engineers and Product Teams while contributing to technical design, documentation and Agile delivery.
