About the role
The Edenred Digital Center (EDC) in Bucharest, Romania is Edenred Group’s new Digital hub for strategic IT projects.
Context/ ROLE
As a senior test automation engineer, you will join a selected team of highly skilled developers and engineers creating cutting-edge products in the payment transaction processing space.
The products you will be working on are dedicated to supporting our core business and grow as well to provide accessibility and an ease of use for our customer.
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer on the End to End Testing team, you will design and develop automated tests covering full user journeys spanning multiple frontend and backend applications. Your work will ensure seamless integration and quality across systems supporting Edenred’s core business processes. You will leverage a Java-based tech stack including Playwright, RestAssured, and Spring Framework to build robust automation suites reflecting real-world scenarios.
Responsibilities
Position SCOPE & Key Responsibilities
» Design, implement, and maintain automated E2E tests spanning multiple applications (frontend and backend) that cover complete user flows.
» Create automation scripts using Playwright (preferred) or Selenium for UI testing, and RestAssured for API testing within a Spring-based Java project.
» Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and other QA specialists to define comprehensive test strategies for cross-application workflows.
» Analyze test outcomes, debug issues, and generate actionable reports for stakeholders
» Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of the automation framework and practices
» Mentor junior testers and promote best practices in automation testing.
» Keeping updated with the latest industry developments
Requirements
Required skills & profile
Experience
» Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
» Proven experience as a Test Automation Engineer (at least 5 years), mostly focused on backend applications.
» Solid programming skills in Java, with hands-on experience in Playwright or Selenium for UI automation and RestAssured for API testing.
» Experience with Spring Framework and integration of automation suites within it.
» Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Nice to have
» Nice to have experience with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD
» Fluent English language skills are a required
» A team player, always eager to learn new skills and technologies
» Willingness to discover new and complex topics
» Goal-oriented way of working and pronounced willingness to perform
