Position Summary
We’re hiring a Full Stack Team Lead with software architecture experience to provide both hands-on full stack development and strategic architectural direction for our Java development initiatives. This is a senior, hands-on role: you’ll help set technical direction and architect solutions while staying technically involved yourself. You’ll also bring strong, practical AI skills, using AI coding assistants and agents every day to design, build, test, and ship, and showing the team how to do the same. It’s a highly impactful position, ideal for a seasoned Solutions Architect who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and enjoys helping others.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
•
Serve as the team lead across architecture, development, and DevOps functions.
•
Work hands-on with AI coding assistants and agents in your daily development, from design and implementation through testing, code review, and troubleshooting, and lead by example in how to use them well.
•
Own the architecture, design, and scalability of enterprise-grade applications.
•
Help drive best practices in coding, test automation, API design, and performance tuning.
•
Translate business requirements into secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
•
Oversee the integration of RESTful and SOAP-based services with modern authentication (SAML, PingFederate).
•
Guide API documentation and testing workflows using Postman and Swagger.
•
Carry out integration and unit testing of the functionality you develop, and troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production.
•
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system interoperability and delivery.
•
Share practical AI workflows, prompts, and patterns with the team so effective AI-assisted development becomes part of how everyone works.
What success looks like
•
Architecture: enterprise-grade applications are well designed, secure, and reliable
•
Engineering standards: best practices in coding, testing, API design, and performance tuning are in place and followed across the team
•
Integration: RESTful and SOAP-based services integrate cleanly with modern authentication (SAML, PingFederate)
•
API quality: APIs are consistently documented and tested through Postman and Swagger workflows
•
AI-assisted development: you use AI coding tools and agents effectively in your own work, and the team adopts the workflows you demonstrate
•
Stability: issues across development, staging, and production environments are identified and resolved
•
Delivery: systems interoperate seamlessly and the team delivers in step with cross-functional partners
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
•
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
•
At least 7 years of experience in enterprise application development and architecture
•
Strong, hands-on use of AI in software development: coding assistants and agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), agentic workflows, and AI-assisted testing, debugging, and code review. You should be able to demonstrate this live, with real examples of how it has made you more effective
•

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Compensation
The good faith compensation range for this role is $130,000-$140,000 CAD annually. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

The performance of additional responsibilities if you are designated as a Data Protection Champion (DPC), Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) or Information Assurance Accounting Officer (IAAO).
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
