We are seeking talented Finance individuals who, in addition to the above, have a passion for learning and leveraging technologies such as SQL and AI to drive impactful data analysis and transform our processes. We’re a highly technical team that builds its own tools, operates at speed, and says yes as a default. You’ll be doing things like:
•
Managing day-to-day liquidity across Shopify’s global treasury operations, including cash positioning, investment management, reconciliation, forecasting, and reporting, while continuously improving our processes and controls
•
Using AI reflexively to identify automation opportunities and build the tools that act on them; streamlining treasury workflows in ways that drive efficiency without giving up control. Prompting, coding, and shipping are all part of the job here
•
Collaborating with Finance Engineering, Product, and other cross-functional teams to support treasury initiatives and projects
•
Assisting in managing foreign exchange exposure and hedging activities
•
Supporting bank administration functions including opening, closing and maintaining bank accounts, securing banking services, and supporting KYC & AML compliance requirements
•
Planning and instituting business continuity processes and business impact analyses
What you bring to the team:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
•
Demonstrated corporate treasury experience; you understand liquidity management, bank account administration, and cash forecasting from the inside
•
Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to use them reflexively as part of your daily workflow
•
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a passion for leveraging data and AI tooling to drive decisions
•
A builder’s mentality and a proven track record of execution and impact — especially creating processes and systems from scratch in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, and leading yourself in a remote environment
•
Superior written and verbal communication skills, business partnering expertise, and a team-oriented focus
It’d be great if you have:
•
A designation, CFA, CPA, CTP or equivalent professional designation
•
Experience with technology, fintech, or SaaS-based business models; you understand what it means to be an enabler of product, not a gatekeeper
•
Hands-on experience building tools or automations using AI to code
•
Familiarity with Treasury Management Systems (like Modern Treasury) and multi-currency FX management
