About the role
Are you the kind of person who notices what everyone else misses? We’re looking for a Security Guard / ESS Operator to keep a U.S. military facility secure around the clock: monitoring the Electronic Security System (ESS), controlling who comes and goes, and responding fast when an alarm sounds. You’ll be the steady, visible presence that protects the people, property, and assets supporting the mission. Our team values vigilance, professionalism, and having each other’s backs on every shift.
What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):
• Monitoring & response: Maintain 24/7 monitoring of the ESS, quickly addressing alarms, alerts, and anomalies; if the system goes down, step into a dedicated sentry role to keep intrusion detection high.
• Access control: Enforce entry/exit procedures, screen personnel and hand-carried items per post orders, and escort non-cleared personnel within controlled and restricted areas.
• Communications & reporting: Operate the radio network control system and report incidents, system anomalies, and ESS repair needs to the Lead Guard / Security Manager.
• Documentation: Record all alarm activations, system tests, and responses accurately and on time on DA Form 4930-R.
• Readiness: Perform operator-level ESS maintenance and take part in system tests, drills, and Force Protection (FP) exercises.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):
• High school diploma or GED, plus at least one year in a security, law enforcement, or military police role (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
• Demonstrated ability to operate ESS at the operator level (alarm panels, intrusion detection, access control platforms) and keep accurate security records such as DA Form 4930-R.
• Physical ability to perform sentry duties, escorts, and on-foot incident response, staying calm and decisive under pressure.
• Availability for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
• Experience on a U.S. military installation OCONUS, ideally within USFK or the Indo-Pacific Command AOR, including familiarity with USFK security policies and force protection directives.
• Knowledge of anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) principles, plus experience with physical security patrols and escorts in restricted areas.
• Security guard licensure, ESS operator training, or equivalent certifications.
• Working proficiency in Korean.
