Job Summary
The Government Services Account Coordinator (Thursday–Sunday) owns the day-to-day operational execution for BlueGrace’s federal, state, and municipal freight accounts across a four-day extended shift schedule. In addition to core account coordination responsibilities, this role carries a critical weekend coverage function — actively covering open USPS loads and executing bounce recoveries to ensure uninterrupted service on mission-critical government freight. This position is ideal for a detail-driven, ownership-oriented individual who thrives in a high-stakes operational environment and is motivated by the challenge of keeping time-sensitive government shipments on track through the end of the week and into the weekend. Reliability, compliance, and precise execution are non-negotiable in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Load Coverage — USPS Open Loads & Bounce Recoveries
•
Monitor and manage open USPS load assignments during Thursday–Sunday shift hours, ensuring all tendered loads are covered by qualified, compliant carriers before pickup windows close.
•
Identify uncovered or at-risk loads early in the shift and execute carrier outreach to secure capacity, prioritizing service commitment and on-time performance.
•
Manage bounce recovery operations — identifying loads that have been rejected, dropped, or lost by the original carrier and rapidly sourcing replacement coverage to prevent service failures.
•
Coordinate with the carrier network, dispatch contacts, and internal operations to execute recoveries with urgency, keeping customers and leadership informed throughout the process.
•
Document all load coverage activity and bounce recovery actions with accurate detail in the TMS for reporting, accountability, and root cause analysis.
•
Escalate load coverage situations that exceed resolution capacity or involve contract-critical shipments to Government Services leadership with full context and recommended action.
Carrier Network & Capacity Management
•
Build and maintain a dedicated network of vetted, high-performing truckload carriers for government and strategic accounts.
•
Maintain carrier performance and compliance scorecards; lead periodic carrier check-in calls to review KPIs and address performance gaps.
•
Manage carrier contact records, equipment data, and driver information with a high standard of accuracy in the TMS.
•
Support trailer pool management processes and related technology tools.
Award Go-Lives & Lane Operations
•
Own award go-lives end-to-end, coordinating across internal teams and carrier partners to ensure new lanes are fully operational from day one.
•
Track tendered volumes, shipment cadence, and award commitments against contractual obligations; flag deviations proactively.
•
Maintain route guides, facility records, and contact information for shippers and consignees across all customer sites.
Tracking, Visibility & Exception Management
•
Monitor real-time and autonomous shipment tracking via FourKites and project44 to maintain continuous visibility on in-transit government freight.
•
Identify and resolve daily operational exceptions quickly; escalate proactively when a shipment or carrier relationship is at risk.
•
Follow up with carriers to collect PODs, invoices, and all required supporting documentation within required timeframes.
Reporting & Compliance
•
Maintain accurate shipment, equipment, and tender records across all government customer accounts.
•
Learn and apply each customer’s specific KPIs and reporting requirements to daily operational decision-making.
•
Generate and distribute operational reports and lane performance summaries as required by account and management teams.
Qualifications
