This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Introduction to the job
ASML operates in a complex global landscape where trade compliance, geopolitics and supply continuity come together. In this role, you will be the SS&P focal point for Trade Compliance and Geopolitical topics and manage trade-related risks and controls.
You will work closely with Legal & Compliance and Government & External Affairs to translate trade compliance regulations and geopolitical developments into clear direction for Sourcing, Supply Chain and Procurement, ensuring the organization remains resilient and future-proof.
Role and responsibilities
The SS&P Trade Compliance & Geopolitical Manager establishes and drives the strategic Trade Compliance and Geopolitical Risk agenda within Sourcing, Supply Chain and Procurement. The role combines subject matter expertise, stakeholder influence and capability development to ensure trade compliance, proactively manage geopolitical risks, and embed these considerations into supplier strategies, category management and business decision-making.
By connecting external developments with internal execution, the role enables SS&P to operate compliantly, resiliently and competitively in an increasingly dynamic global environment.
Key responsibilities include:
•
Act as the SS&P focal point for Trade Compliance and Geopolitical topics, leveraging expertise from Legal & Compliance subject matter experts where required.
•
Perform SS&P risk assessments and improve the effectiveness of trade compliance controls through automation and data-driven approaches.
•
Assess the long-term impact of emerging legislation on the supply chain and develop potential scenarios. Integrate risk scenarios into category strategies together with the clusters.
•
Act as the key interface toward Legal & Compliance and Government & External Affairs on relevant Trade Compliance and Geopolitical topics. Secure execution across all regions.
•
Define and lead capability step-ups across the organization.
•
Define Trade Compliance performance KPIs to structurally measure progress.
Education and Experience
To thrive in this role, you bring:
•
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business or a related field.
•
5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement or trade-related roles within a global environment.
•
Strong interest in trade regulations (for example export controls, customs and sanctions) and how they translate into operational impact.
