Job Description
SUMMARY: This person will perform maintenance & repairs on production and facility related equipment, while maintaining a clean & safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
2.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks & repairs on equipment and facilities
3.
Identify potential issues that may lead to equipment downtime and suggest ways to prevent future breakdowns.
4.
Order repair parts for maintenance repairs to equipment and facilities.
5.
Identify critical parts and make recommendations on additional spare parts inventory.
6.
Assist Maintenance Technicians as needed.
7.
Maintain a clean work area and promote company 5S policies.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a two-year vocational maintenance training program or apprenticeship program emphasizing industrial maintenance are required. The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas;
1.
Must have 5+ years’ experience in an industrial maintenance role, with strong mechanical & electrical skills.
2.
Must have a working knowledge of PLCs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
3.
Able to identify problems and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment downtime.
4.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, drawings, and service manuals.
5.
Must be computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
JOB PREREQUISITES:
1.
Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hour week. Sometimes, it may be necessary to work additional hours to accomplish the required tasks and meet deadlines.
2.
Highly motivated and well-organized.
3.
Maintain high personal standards of quality.
4.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and effectively communicate with management and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.
5.
Excellent problem-solving and team motivational skills are a must.
6.
Must be flexible, adapt to work environment changes, and manage competing demands. Flexible hours may be required when necessary to reach company goals.
7.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management and outside contractors

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
The position is subject to extended periods of sitting depending on the nature of the issues at hand. Along with this is the occasional lifting of boxes and bending or crouching.
