Job Description
About the company
The LEGO Group is seeking a visionary strategic executive to help define and execute our long-term corporate strategy, establish our competitive direction, and lead transformational change that will reshape how we operate.
About the role
As Vice President of Strategy & Transformation, you will serve as the primary architect of the LEGO Group’s strategic agenda, partnering directly with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to establish organizational direction, prepare board-level strategy discussions, and lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. Based in either Billund or Copenhagen, you will lead approximately 40 strategy and transformation professionals while maintaining personal involvement in defining the company’s most critical strategic choices and their execution.
This is a high-impact executive role with significant senior visibility and direct influence over the company’s long-term competitive position. You will be responsible for translating complex market dynamics and organizational capabilities into a coherent strategic narrative that guides executive decision-making and resource allocation across the entire enterprise.
Core Responsibilities
In this role, you will function as the principal strategic advisor to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team, with direct responsibility for establishing organizational strategy, enabling executive decision-making, and leading transformational change that defines the company’s competitive future.
You will:
•
Define the LEGO Group’s long-term strategic direction and competitive positioning – developing a compelling strategic narrative that shapes executive thinking and resource allocation decisions.
•
Oversee and help deliver the company’s most critical strategic initiatives - taking ownership from conception through board presentation and execution oversight.
•
Develop, present, and support the alignment of the LEGO Group’s strategic agenda to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, developing different scenarios, and recommendations that drive board-level strategy discussions and major capital allocation decisions.
•
Direct enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that reshape organizational capabilities, operating models, and competitive advantages – establishing clear governance, measurable outcomes, and executive accountability for value delivery.
•
Lead and develop a high-performing team of approximately 40 strategy and transformation professionals, ensuring they have the strategic mandate, organizational influence, and development opportunities to drive critical initiatives and grow into senior leadership roles.
•
Serve as an executive sparring partner to the CFO and leadership team – challenging strategic assumptions, stress-testing decisions, and providing independent perspective on organizational priorities and trade-offs.
Play Your Part in Our Team Succeeding
The Strategy & Transformation team is the executive engine driving the LEGO Group’s long-term competitive advantage. We are responsible for defining the LEGO Group corporate strategy (the PLAN), identifying and sizing strategic opportunities, and executing the transformational initiatives that reshape how the company competes and creates value.
We maintain direct, trusted relationships with the Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic counsel on the company’s most consequential decisions – including portfolio strategy, market positioning, organizational capability development, and resource allocation.
As a central strategy function, we work across all business units, geographies, and functions—translating organizational complexity into strategic clarity and driving coordinated action on enterprise priorities. We attract world-class talent from leading management consultancies and industry, and we serve as a leadership development hub for the LEGO Group.
Do You Have What It Takes?
The successful candidate brings:
•
An MBA or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field from a top-tier university with excellent academic results
•
15+ years of progressive professional experience with substantial tenure (8+ years) at a leading global management consultancy, including recognized leadership in strategic advisory, transformation, and complex engagement management
•
Significant experience in a chief strategy or senior corporate development role within a global FMCG, Retail, or comparable organization, with demonstrated track record of developing, presenting, and executing corporate strategy and major transformation initiatives
•
Proven executive leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams of 30+ professionals, establish organizational influence, and drive enterprise-wide change across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
•
Experience presenting to boards of directors or board committees, developing strategic recommendations for executive audiences, and advising C-suite executives on matters of significant strategic consequence
•
A strategic mind-set coupled with exceptional quantitative, analytical, and financial acumen—the ability to rapidly synthesize complex information, model strategic alternatives, and extract rigorous insights from organizational and market data
•
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively across multiple dimensions simultaneously balancing long-term strategy with operational execution, engaging executive leaders while building team capability and maintaining strategic clarity in dynamic, ambiguous environments
•
Executive-grade communication and influencing skills, including the ability to develop compelling strategic narratives, synthesize complexity into clear frameworks, and command credibility with senior audiences including boards and investors
•
Track record of successful market entry strategy, business model innovation, or organizational transformation in a global context
