About the role
IMEG is hiring a Licensed Maryland Surveyor in Manassas, VA, to provide leadership in daily survey operations and production surveying. This role supports construction layout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys while applying surveying judgment based on documented practices, systems, and experience.
You will prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets; mentor junior staff; and build productive relationships with clients and coworkers. The team supports data center, federal, education, and municipal work, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You’ll Do
•
Provide leadership in daily survey activities, including construction layout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys.
•
Perform complex survey duties for construction stakeout and field surveys.
•
Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports.
•
Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping and topographic field reductions using CAD and survey software.
•
Maintain and verify project survey data and company standards survey database accuracy.
•
Review survey production, final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control.
•
Complete survey computations, staking and control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects.
•
Operate and assist with the operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment.
•
Supervise CAD Techs preparing plans and plats describing completed surveys.
•
Build professional, productive working relationships with clients and coworkers.
•
Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets, and mentor and assist in training junior staff members.
•
Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures.

Survey and SUE-focused civil team across DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland
•
Subsurface utility engineering, ALTA/as-builts, and construction surveying for data center and federal clients
•
Strong education and municipal activity including Leesburg-area school projects
•
Recent work includes MWAA E-Line Sanitary Sewer, Government; QTS Manassas Data Center ALTA, Data Center; and Leesburg Elementary Renovation Survey, Education

State of Virginia Salary Range: $85,000–$100,000 per year

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
