Summary
About the role
Our ANZ InsuranceSuite practice delivers Guidewire implementations and cloud transformations for some of the largest insurers in the region. As an Architect, you own the design and delivery of one workstream on a customer program, either Functional (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) or Integration. You work alongside a Lead or Senior Architect and mentor the consultants and developers on your track.
You’ll be hands-on. You design the solution, build the hard parts, review your team’s work, and are the person the customer’s project leadership relies on for your track. We hire Architects with the expectation that they grow into Senior Architects, and we put the mentoring and project exposure in place for that.
Job Description
What you’ll do
•
Design and estimate: Turn business requirements into designs for medium-complexity product gaps and enhancements. Estimate the work accurately and explain the trade-offs clearly.
•
Lead a workstream: Take full responsibility for defining, planning and delivering your track, from backlog shape and quality reviews to delivering on commitments.
•
Build and review: Write production-quality configuration and code in Gosu and Java on Guidewire Cloud Platform. Lead code and design reviews so your track meets Guidewire Cloud standards.
•
Anticipate problems: Find risks and issues before they land. Bring facts, analysis and options to the customer and the project team, not just the problem.
•
Deliver with AI: Use AI-assisted engineering tools in design, configuration, integration and testing to deliver faster without lowering quality, and help your team adopt the patterns that work.
•
Coach the team: Mentor junior consultants and the customer’s or partner’s developers on Guidewire functionality, best practice and delivery methodology.
•
Work with project leadership: Communicate clearly with project managers, product owners and customer architects. Adjust your message for the audience and help them make informed decisions.
•
Contribute to the practice: Share what you learn through reusable assets, knowledge articles and internal sessions.

•
Own the integration contracts, error handling and non-functional behaviour (performance, resilience, security) for your track.
What success looks like in your first year
•
You’re running a workstream on a customer program on your own, and the customer’s project leadership treats you as the go-to person for your track.
•
Your designs and estimates hold up in delivery, and your team’s work consistently passes Guidewire Cloud standards and quality reviews.
•
At least one junior team member has visibly improved through your coaching.
•
You’ve contributed at least one reusable asset or pattern back to the practice.
