The Structure Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for bridge, retaining wall, box culvert, and other structural construction projects. This role works closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams to evaluate plans, specifications, quantities, and production strategies.
Key Responsibilities
•
Review bridge and structure plans, specifications, and bid documents.
•
Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, piling, cofferdams, and related work.
•
Develop labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor cost estimates.
•
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
•
Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities.
•
Participate and lead bid reviews and estimate presentations.
•
Support project handoff meetings after award.
•
Support operation team with technical change order pricing.
Preferred Experience
•
Heavy civil or bridge construction experience.
•
Knowledge of MoDOT bridge specifications.
•
Experience estimating cast-in-place concrete, structural steel, and foundation systems.
•
Familiarity with Ineight Estimate, HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software.
