About the role
LightFeather is seeking a skilled Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the U.S. Department of State in modernizing and maintaining secure, scalable cloud environments. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize OCI solutions while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise across OCI compute, networking, storage, databases, security, and automation, with the ability to support mission-critical federal systems. This is a Full-Time, Hybrid Position requiring four days onsite and one remote day per week.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 annually, based on experience level.
•
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Key Responsibilities
•
Design, deploy, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, including compute, networking, storage, and database solutions.
•
Configure and maintain Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, gateways, and load balancers supporting mission-critical applications.
•
Implement cloud security best practices aligned with federal compliance frameworks, including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
•
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
•
Monitor system performance, optimize cloud costs, and ensure high availability across OCI environments.
•
Troubleshoot and resolve complex OCI-related issues, providing escalation support when needed.
•
Collaborate with security, development, and operations teams on cloud migrations and enterprise modernization initiatives.
•
Maintain detailed documentation covering cloud architectures, configurations, and operational processes.
Required Qualifications
•
Active Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
•
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, including at least two years of experience working specifically with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
