Job Description:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Urology
Location: Manhattan, NY
Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 8:00am-6:00pm
Organization: New York Health (NYH)
In This Role, You Will:
•
Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses.
•
Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record.
•
Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff.
•
Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
•
Escort patients to exam rooms.
•
Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets.
•
Assist physician with exams and/or procedures.
•
Prepare and administer Injections.
•
Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.
•
Perform point of care lab testing.
•
Perform EKGs.
•
Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error.
•
Be cross-trained in infusion & intake.
We Require:
•
Current NYS LPN license required.
