Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
•
Plan and deliver Music across PYP/MYP (and DP where applicable), aligned with IB frameworks, ATL skills, and the Learner Profile.
•
Lead ensembles (band/choir/orchestra), teaching instrumental technique, ensemble skills, theory, composition, and listening/analysis.
•
Design coherent units with clear conceptual understandings; use formative and summative assessments aligned to programme criteria, with timely feedback and documented evidence (recordings/portfolios).
•
Differentiate for a wide range of ages and abilities, including beginners and advanced performers; support EAL/SEN learners and integrate music technology where appropriate.
•
Organize concerts, recitals, festivals, and assemblies; manage auditions, rehearsal schedules, calendars, and logistics with colleagues.
•
Maintain instruments, inventory, and specialist spaces; ensure safe, responsible use and risk management.
•
Collaborate with homeroom/subject teachers and coordinators for vertical/horizontal alignment and transdisciplinary links; participate in professional learning, moderation, and whole-school events.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field; teaching qualification preferred

Two or more years of music teaching experience; experience across primary and secondary is an advantage
