About the role
The 10-week Student Nurse Intern (SNI) program provides nursing students the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the nursing profession while working alongside a registered nurse. The MN Nurse Practice Act exemption language requires nursing students to be enrolled in a nursing course in an approved nursing program to participate in a summer internship experience. Through the course, baccalaureate and associate enrolled nursing students work alongside their designated nurse preceptor which assists in bridging the gap between school and practice.
The paid internship allows nursing students to experience working full time (0.75-0.9 FTE) on Day, Evening, or Night shifts in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a clinical nurse. Schedules will match their preceptors’ schedule and can be 8 or 12 hours shifts or a combination and may include weekends and holidays. This position pays a flat $22.79 hourly rate.
Students will have the opportunity to work in one of the following areas:
•
Neonatal (NICU, ICC, SCN)
•
Critical Care (ED, CVICU, PICU)
•
Acute Med/Surg (Neuro, LSU, Hem/Onc)

Peri-Operative (OR/PACU)
•
Inpatient Mental Health
