About the role
Make a meaningful difference to patients around the world as a Field Clinical Specialist. In this role, you will be a critical part of the THV field team in Montreal, partnering with heart centers, physicians, and hospital staff to deliver patient-focused therapies and provide clinical support for Edwards’ TAVI procedures. You’ll play a key role in proctoring, training, and educating clinical professionals, leveraging your deep understanding of heart pathophysiology, aortic stenosis patients, and the hospital ecosystem. Through our comprehensive training program, you will become an Edwards subject matter expert and the trusted face of Edwards to physicians. These are the competencies that will make you successful in the role.

Edwards’s product & portfolio knowledge: A THV Field Clinical Specialist has a detailed understanding of Edwards products and services. As a clinical and technical expert, you are a thought leader for physicians for the product, procedure and the disease. In your region, you are trusted partner to your colleagues when it comes to all technical and clinical products. You find innovative ways to employ this knowledge to drive territory performance and therapy awareness.

Disease & therapy knowledge: THV Field Clinical Specialists are experts in aortic stenosis. As an all-around therapy expert, you have extensive and detailed knowledge in the disease and patient condition and are seen as a trusted resource and partner by implanters and customers on Edwards’s devices utilization.

Clinical data expertise: As a Field Clinical Specialist, you can proactively apply your understanding of the latest clinical research in order to draw links between clinical data and clinical outcomes in the real patient setting.

OR/Cath Lab management: In the Cath lab/OR, you provide support during the procedure and can react quickly to unexpected situations. You are able to prepare the device and are entirely familiar with OR/Cath Lab process and cathlab team. The Cath lab/OR staff and physicians see you as an Edwards expert. You can demonstrate situational leadership during stressful procedures but remain a team player who can communicate effectively to each member of the team. You demonstrate a high level of self-awareness, knowing when to share your expertise and when to listen and support during the procedure.

Imaging expertise: As an imaging expert, you show a detailed knowledge in reading imaging data and can interpret CT-scans, having full understanding of the different imaging data used for TAVI procedures (e.g. CT scan). You support clinical decisions on valve choice and size based on imaging data, can have detailed discussions with implanters on treatment decisions and be a key part of the procedure planning.

Business Acumen: In addition to deep clinical knowledge, you also have strong business acumen and can adapt your style to communicate with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, such as hospital administration. You understand competitor products and capabilities, technically and clinically. You partner with your territory manager and use financial and business metrics to understand the state of the business and achieve territory goals.

Customer Leadership: As an FCS, you have customer and proctor relationships. You offer relevant trainings, both technical and scientific, on Edwards’s products, TAVI, and relevant cardiovascular topics (e.g. heart pathophysiology, valve replacement).

Teamwork and Leadership: You can work independently but remain a key member of the territory team. You understand the THV organization and can foster an environment where sharing best practices is the standard. You are a good listener and experienced in working with physicians. You are a skilled teacher and able to provide advice, coaching and support to others on how to design innovative solutions to optimize process efficiency and implementation plan.
What you’ll need:
•
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field with training experience in clinical / technical environment.
•
Experience working in cardiac Cath lab and/or operation room required, with strong aptitude for cardiac anatomy and physiology. TAVI experience preferred.
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders. This position will require close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders (physician partners).

Demonstrated excellence in meeting customer expectations.

Effectiveness in understanding complex medical cases, resolving difficult situations, and setting priorities.
•
Self-motivated, determined, and willing to make a difference in patients’ lives.

Adaptable: you can adjust to the dynamics of a fast paced and sometimes high stress Cath lab / OR environment.

Confident using of modern communication tools, MS Office and willingness to learn other software programs as needed.
•
Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
•
Bilingual in English and French

For Canada, the base pay range for this position is 94 000 $ - 133 000 $ (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
