Role summary:
The Principal, Technical Program Manager leads complex, large-scale programs by defining goals, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving end-to-end technology solutions. This role requires expertise in program planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery within resource and timeline constraints. The position involves translating technical requirements into scalable designs, overseeing operational excellence, and mentoring team members. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential to align teams, mitigate risks, and optimize program outcomes while continuously improving processes and fostering collaboration across multiple engineering and business domains.
About the team:
The Marketplace TPM team leads Walmart’s key technology initiatives by partnering with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Business teams. The team thrives in complex settings, emphasizing operational excellence, technical expertise, and disciplined execution. They create scalable solutions that improve seller and customer experiences while reducing complexity. By establishing efficient operating frameworks, the team accelerates delivery with quality, transparency, and accountability across large, cross-functional programs. This role demands strong skills in program and project management, risk and stakeholder management, and technical design to drive meaningful and lasting results.
What you’ll do:
•
Lead and manage large-scale technical programs, defining goals, timelines, and key deliverables across multiple teams and dependencies.

Drive end-to-end technology solutions by collaborating with engineering teams on system design, architecture, and operational excellence.
•
Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure timely resolution to maintain program progress and quality outcomes.
•
Establish and improve scalable workflows, prioritization frameworks, and communication strategies to align stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
•
Mentor team members on program management best practices and technical design considerations.
•
Analyze data to inform decisions, optimize processes, and promote continuous improvement across initiatives.

Sunnyvale, California US-11656: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
