A four-year college degree, associate degree, technical degree, trade school diploma, or other relevant post-secondary education is preferred. Candidates without post-secondary education must have substantial directly related experience in dimensional inspection, metrology, calibration, machining, or Quality Control that demonstrates equivalent technical qualifications.
Experience with dimensional inspection and precision measurement equipment is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong engineering drawing interpretation and measurement skills. Experience in machining, foundry operations, or a related manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Experience with calibration systems, CMM, portable CMM, 3D metrology, or other computer-based inspection systems is preferred. Foundry inspection, casting defect recognition, NDT/NDE, SAP, or related Quality experience is also preferred.
Strong computer, analytical, and technology skills are required. Candidates must be comfortable working with quality and measurement data, electronic inspection records, reports, and analytical tools and demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new inspection technologies and digital Quality systems.
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, bending, squatting, lifting up to 70 lbs., climbing, pushing, pulling, stretching, standing, and walking. Work is performed in foundry, machining, inspection, and other manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, noise, dust, machinery, and moving equipment.
