A Day in the Life
The Facilities function is responsible for maintaining safe, compliant, and reliable building operations that support manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and administrative environments. This role supports Medtronic’s Orange County site cluster, overseeing approximately 335,000 square feet across Irvine Toledo, Irvine UCI, Santa Ana, Carlsbad, and New Port locations. The position partners closely with site leadership, technical teams, vendors, and support functions to ensure operational continuity, infrastructure reliability, and regulatory compliance.
This is an onsite role based in Orange County, California, supporting multiple facilities within the area. Local travel between Orange County sites is required.
Responsibilities
•
Lead facilities operations, maintenance, and infrastructure management across manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and office facilities
•
Develop and execute maintenance strategies to ensure reliable operation of facility equipment, utilities, building systems, and site services
•
Oversee capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, and infrastructure investments from planning through implementation
•
Coordinate planned maintenance, repairs, shutdown activities, and projects by collaborating with site stakeholders to minimize operational disruption
•
Evaluate facility performance, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and drive corrective and preventive actions
•
Ensure inspection readiness and compliance with quality, environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements
•
Utilize building automation and computerized maintenance management systems to monitor performance, analyze metrics, and drive maintenance excellence
•
Lead, develop, and evaluate facilities personnel while managing vendor, contractor, and service provider performance
Required Qualifications
•
Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of facilities or maintenance experience OR advanced degree with 5+ years of facilities or maintenance experience
•
5+ years of people leadership experience
•
Experience managing facilities operations within manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, or mixed-use environments
•
Experience coordinating maintenance programs, infrastructure projects, and vendor services across multiple facilities
Preferred Qualifications
•
Experience managing multiple complex facilities within a multi-site environment
•
