Responsibilities
Under minimal supervision, the Broker facilitates the placement of insurance policies submitted by retail trading partners with Berkley sister companies that have joined Berkley Marketplace, contributing to business growth and supporting a highly collaborative team environment.
• Work closely with teams from multiple Berkley companies to place coverage for trading partners, leveraging the underwriting capacity of selected WR Berkley companies.• Produce and facilitate the placement of insurance policies for opportunities submitted by retail trading partners to be written with other Berkley companies.• Quote, bind, and issue policies for other Berkley companies that extend underwriting authority to Berkley Connect.• Collaborate with Berkley company underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies for companies that do not extend underwriting authority to Berkley Connect.• Partner with the Account Management team to transition accounts for servicing and renewal activities.• Ensure compliance with Surplus Lines regulations in the placement of Surplus Lines policies.• Populate and update Berkley Connect’s Agency Management System with accurate and current information.• Market Berkley Connect’s capabilities to trading partners to drive new business opportunities.• Develop strong relationships with internal teams and other Berkley companies and assist management in establishing new partnerships.• Monitor email accounts and respond promptly and professionally to email inquiries and communications.• Complete special projects and other assignments as directed by management.
