About the role
IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Pensacola, FL, to lead large and highly complex mechanical engineering projects as a lead engineer or project manager. In this role, you will provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client guidance while overseeing the analysis, design, and implementation of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry, with a focus on government and Department of Defense projects. You’ll also work within project budgets, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to help achieve project goals and client expectations.
Principal Responsibilities
• Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
• Perform site assessments and generate technical analyses and reports
• Partner with clients to understand project needs, communicate technical information, and maintain strong working relationships
• Conduct in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to support quality, accuracy, and compliance
• Provide technical training, mentoring, and field issue support with minimal senior staff involvement
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices while supporting research and innovation efforts
• Identify and mitigate safety risks associated with mechanical systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
• Lead project interviews and presentations
Required Qualifications and Skills
