About the role
This is a high-impact, project-focused leadership role designed for a strategic “executor” who thrives in fast-paced environments. As a key member of the Eastern Canada Area Leadership Team, you will serve as the primary architect for operational integration and capital efficiency across the region.
While this role has no direct reports, it is a heavyweight influencer position. You will be the bridge between corporate strategy and regional execution, requiring the ability to drive results through collaboration, professional credibility, and a relentless focus on getting things done.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Capital Program Management ($30M Annual Budget)
•
Oversee and shepherd the allocation and execution of the $30 million annual capital budget for Eastern Canada
•
Partner with local operations to prioritize projects that drive the highest ROI
•
Monitor project milestones and spend to ensure all capital investments are delivered on time and within budget
2.
M&A Integration & Synergy Realization
•
Support and lead where appropriate the “First 90 Days” post-close for new acquisitions in the area.
•
Identify and extract tangible operational synergies (e.g., procurement savings, route density, consolidation) to meet or exceed deal models.
3.
Strategic Project Leadership
•
Act as a “Special Projects” lead for the Area Leadership Team, tackling complex business challenges as they arise (e.g., facility expansions, brownfield/greenfield opportunities)
•
Provide high-level project management and consulting to other Business Leaders to help them unlock growth or efficiency opportunities.
•
Navigate ambiguous environments to turn high-level strategic goals into actionable workstreams.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a self-directed professional who doesn’t wait for a roadmap. You are someone who takes extreme ownership and possesses the “grit” required to navigate organization hurdles
Required Qualifications:
•
Bilingualism: Absolute fluency in English and French is mandatory to support our diverse Eastern Canada footprint.
•
Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel between 30% and 50% of the time to various sites across Eastern Canada to oversee integrations and capital projects.
•
Business Acumen: Deep understanding of P&L management, capital allocation, and the levers that drive EBITDA.
•
Agility: A “malleable” mindset—the ability to pivot quickly when business priorities shift.
•
Influence without Authority: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without having a direct reporting line.
•
Self-Directed: High “bias for action”; you are comfortable operating in the “gray” and can build your own structure where none exists.
•
Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel between 30% and 50% of the time to various sites across Eastern Canada to oversee integrations and capital projects.
Technical Skills:
•
Expertise in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
•
Experience in M&A integration or corporate development considered an asset
•
Strong financial modeling and spreadsheet skills
