Overview
The Chumash Learning Center offers a vibrant, welcoming place for Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians community members to gather for Homework Club and to encourage lifelong learning with Academic Tutor support. Students’ drop-in to get assistance in various subjects to enhance their understanding and performance, in-person or remotely. Tutors encourage positive student behavior and participation during study and group activities.
Responsibilities
•
Tutoring in a one-on-one or group setting while assisting with homework assignments, projects and test preparation.
•
Monitor and track student(s) progress, by providing regular feedback to the Education
•
Department, student(s), parent(s).
•
Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
•
Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•
Ability to establish and maintain a trusting and positive relationship with students and parents.
•
Stay updated on curriculum changes
•
CPR Training
•
Follow confidentiality procedures.
Qualifications
•
Master’s degree or teaching credential issued
•
Previous related experience working with children in a supervised setting.
