Qualifications
Required
• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in empirical research, econometrics, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or quantitative research.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience working with large structured datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to independently formulate research questions, design analytical approaches, execute empirical studies, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred
• PhD in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience analyzing deposit, consumer banking, payments, lending, credit card, or other customer-level financial datasets.
• Experience with customer behavior modeling, balance forecasting, causal inference, panel-data econometrics, time-series analysis, or machine learning techniques.
• Research experience at a Federal Reserve Bank, U.S. Treasury, academic research institution, quantitative consulting firm, fintech, or financial services research team, including publications, working papers, or conference presentations.PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.
