About the role
This intern will learn about project management within Energy Supply. With oversight from experienced supervisors and mentors, interns may provide input for project design, coordinate resources for construction activities, update training materials for Base Capital, and develop technical expertise for project management for generation facilities. Intern will gain exposure to coal, simple cycle, combined cycle, hydroelectric, and/or wind site facilities and their operation.
Responsibilities
Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
-Support management of existing capital projects
-Develop relationships with plant personnel
-Promote safety first for onsite activities related to capital projects
-Red-line drawings for systems worked on through capital projects
-Develop notifications, work orders, and purchase requistions in SAP
-Develop schedules for assigned projects
-Lead project update meetings with mentorship and supervision
This position is for a May 24, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.
