Position
Reporting to the Commercial & Operations Director, the Business Development Executive will play a key role in driving Seiki Systems’ continued growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities whilst nurturing and expanding existing customer relationships. This role is suited to a highly motivated, commercially driven individual who thrives on building relationships, understanding customer challenges, and demonstrating how software solutions can deliver measurable business improvements.
You will engage with manufacturing businesses across the UK and internationally, helping them improve operational performance through Seiki’s software solutions. You will work closely with Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Product teams to ensure customers receive an exceptional experience throughout their journey.
As Seiki continues its transition towards a modern SaaS business model and ambitious growth plans, the successful candidate will be expected to embrace innovation, leverage AI and modern sales tools, and contribute ideas that help accelerate business performance.
Job Responsibilities
Account Growth & Customer Success (70%)
•
Develop existing customer accounts to identify opportunities for additional modules, services, and SaaS subscriptions.
•
Work closely with Customer Success and Professional Services teams to maximise customer value and retention.
•
Support strategic account planning activities to drive long-term customer growth.
New Business Development (30%)
•
Generate and qualify new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, marketing campaigns, referrals, and market research.
•
Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
•
Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer objectives, challenges, and business requirements.
•
Present Seiki solutions through online demonstrations, webinars, and face-to-face meetings.
•
Develop compelling business cases and ROI propositions for prospective customers.
•
Manage the sales process from initial engagement through to contract signature.
Consultative Selling
•
Engage customers using a consultative approach focused on understanding business outcomes.
•
Build trusted relationships with senior management, operational leaders, and key stakeholders.
•
Lead negotiations and manage complex decision-making processes.
•
Overcome objections effectively whilst maintaining a customer-first approach.
Market & Industry Engagement
•
Maintain a strong understanding of manufacturing industry challenges, trends, and best practices.
•
Develop knowledge of competitor offerings and market positioning.
•
Represent Seiki Systems at exhibitions, industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
•
Provide valuable market feedback to Product and Leadership teams.
Sales Excellence
•
Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and customer records within CRM.
•
Consistently achieve agreed sales activity levels and performance KPIs.
•
Produce accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
•
Continuously improve sales skills, product knowledge, and industry expertise.
•
Utilise AI-enabled sales tools and modern sales methodologies to improve effectiveness and productivity.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
•
Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience in manufacturing technology sales.
•
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
•
Strong consultative selling and solution-selling experience.
•
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
•
Experience managing opportunities through a CRM platform.
•
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
