Job Description
The Medical Assistant II provides clinical and administrative support in ambulatory and procedural settings under the direction of a physician. This role provides patient care within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice, assists with procedures, supports patient education, and mentors new Medical Assistants and students. The Medical Assistant II also contributes to team-based care and performance improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
•
Provide patient care within the Medical Assistant Scope of Practice and under appropriate supervision
•
Assist with clinical procedures, patient education, and other care activities as needed
•
Serve as a resource and mentor for new Medical Assistants and affiliate students
•
Support effective communication and collaboration across the healthcare team
•
Perform POCT, immunizations, injections, and other duties within scope
•
Monitor supplies, equipment, and infection prevention concerns and take appropriate action
•
Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in performance improvement initiatives
•
Promote patient safety, quality care, cultural competency, and excellent customer service
•
Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
•
High school diploma or equivalent Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of experience in a direct patient care role within the last 3 years
•
