About the role
In this position…
The Regulatory Requirements Engineer is the technical bridge between the ever-evolving global regulatory landscape and Ford Energy’s system engineering organization. This role owns the translation of complex, often ambiguous regulatory and code language (UL, IEC, NFPA, NEC, UN38.3, regional grid interconnection codes) into precise, testable, and traceable engineering requirements.
The engineer acts as an early-warning system for regulatory risk, ensuring that BESS products are designed to pass certification the first time, avoiding costly redesigns, schedule slips, and market-access delays. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires equal parts regulatory fluency, systems engineering rigor, and stakeholder communication skills.
