The objective of this position is to lead the development of the optimization engines of energy management systems as the core competency of the products which leverage BEVs to minimize energy costs effortlessly by automatically controlling charging and discharging behavior to achieve intuitive user experience. As our product needs to connect with multiple types of software to build optimization engines utilizing the obtained data, it requires past experience developing optimization systems for user friendly products using LLM / AI. Our team consists of talented engineers who have built the basic foundation of the system, but we require the technical expertise to design, build, and validate the machine learning and optimization models that sit at the core of our product, drawing on data from multiple connected software systems.
Beyond the technical, you’ll need to think from a user’s perspective, work across teams and most importantly, be able to communicate on a number of levels with technical / product / business stakeholders. Our products need to be understandable by other developer teams within the company and also at Toyota to be maintainable, reliable and extensible for our own needs.
