General Medicine has raised $120M in Series B funding to build the healthcare store.
The round was led by Vineeta Agarwala, MD, PhD, of Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and is the largest investment to date from a16z’s bio + health team. Read the announcement.
Healthcare needs a store. People should be able to see prices, understand their options, and get advice from clinicians as easily as they shop for anything else. That’s what we’re building, and this Series B will help us expand the store and reach more customers across the United States.

If this sounds interesting, we’re hiring. Help us build the store.
General Medicine is building a healthcare store that makes it radically simpler — and more transparent — for people to access care. We provide upfront cash and insurance prices for visits, prescriptions, labs, imaging, and more.
Behind that simplicity is complex infrastructure: payer integrations, pricing logic, eligibility systems, reconciliation workflows, and financial rails.
We’re building the systems that make transparent healthcare possible.
