About the role
KRCG 13 has an exciting opportunity for you! We have an open position for a part-time meteorologist!
The main day to day responsibilities of the role will include…
•
Forecasting, Producing and Presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewers
•
Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events
•
Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories
•
Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations
What skills do you need to be successful in our role?
•
Previous on-air experience presenting weather and news information is preferred
•
Extensive digital savvy, excellent writing skills
•
Previous experience preferred with The Weather Company (WSI)
•
Thorough knowledge of how to maximize The Weather Company (WSI) to create distinctive graphics presentations
•
High energy and engaging personality
•
Willingness to come in off duty when severe weather threatens our area
•
Team player, someone who understands it’s about the team, not one individual
•
Proven track record of covering severe weather on-air and on digital
