Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Develop compliant electrical and process control systems that meet the customer
specifications and safety regulations
• Peer review designs created by other engineers to ensure compliance to customer
specifications and safety regulations
• Optimize the system functionality from as-sold to a working electrical design within
the budget in consultation with other disciplines (Mechanical, Controls, Supply
Chain, Installation, etc.)
• Design, review, and approve system and component level calculations to size
components and equipment for the application (conductor sizing, voltage drop,
motor starters, overcurrent and short circuit protection, control panels, control
networks, harmonic studies, load studies, etc.)
• Design, review and approve complex process control systems using PLCs,
Photoeyes, Scanners, DC motors, Solenoids, Beacons, Horns, IO Blocks, Class 2
Power Supplies, non-Class 2 Power Supplies, VFDs (including STO), E-Stop
zones, Ethernet Networks, motor branch circuit grouping, etc.
• Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applications
• Apply safety regulations
• Specify, review and approve the electrical and process control equipment required for the complete process system that operates and controls both Vanderlande manufactured, and third party purchased items
• Use software tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Word, Excel, etc.) to develop electrical
designs such as wiring diagrams, termination lists, Bill of Materials, etc.
• Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear
installation files, and engineering instructions directed to a site supervisor and
installation subcontractor
• Travel to site as needed to conduct site surveys
• Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from your home office
• Project document control using a rights-based database system
