To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree level qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant technical discipline such as Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
With proven experience in Project Management, alongside a strong technical background in IP networking technologies, including LAN, WAN and Firewall environments, you will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in using Visio and Microsoft Project. Experience working with operational Telecommunications networks is also essential.
Possessing a solid understanding of SP Energy Networks HSSEQ standards with knowledge of Telecommunications technologies including Fibre, Copper, Microwave Radio, and Public and Private Cellular Technologies, you will be familiar with MPLS-IP and MPLS-TP architectures, as well as PDH and SDH technologies, IP telephony solutions and network synchronisation techniques such as SyncE, ToD, NTP and Phase synchronisation. In addition, you will understand Telecommunications equipment power requirements, including -48V DC systems, Batteries and UPS technologies.
You will have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, influence stakeholders and build strong relationships with both customers and internal teams. As a self-starter with a proactive, can-do approach, you will be comfortable working under pressure while balancing the requirements of customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring solution designs remain practical, feasible and deliverable.
Demonstrating a sound understanding of design best practice, Telecommunications business processes and industry frameworks such as eTOM or ITIL, which support the delivery of complex solutions, you will have the ability to quickly learn and master new skills, products and platforms, enabling you to adapt effectively within a fast-paced and evolving technical environment.
