About the role
The Research Services Technologist provides timely clinical care and management to a diverse population of lab animal species.
This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week (60% FTE). Due to the nature of research and care, hours may include early morning or late evening shifts. Scheduling flexibility is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
•
Execute routine tasks/processes within area (e.g., Vet services: assessment of lab animal health cases, emergency health condition triaging; Research services: breeding colony maintenance, sample collection and processing,), with limited guidance.
•
Perform assigned procedures within area (e.g., necropsy, euthanasia; PK/PD projects & surgical procedures) as applicable.
•
Troubleshoot, report, and record any issues with equipment/processes within area.
•
Monitor own delivery for compliance with overall guidelines and SOPs.
•
Inform relevant stakeholders (e.g., researchers, veterinarians) of findings and unusual observations/occurrences in a timely manner.
•
Maintain relevant documentation (e.g., medical records, process logs, files, billing reports) as applicable for own area.
•
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
•
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
•
High School Diploma/GED required.
•
Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Lab Animal Science, Biology, Toxicology, or Agricultural preferred.

•

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $22.00 - $38.50 per hour for the role of Research Services Technologist - Part-Time.
