Responsibilities
•
Performs polysomnography procedures according to physician orders, department policy, and patient care plans.
•
Adapts all needed testing procedures and equipment to patients and obtains quality data. Conducts thorough patient assessments and takes appropriate action as necessary.
•
Uses hospital equipment, supplies, and resources responsibly and notifies the lead polysomnographer of any concerns.
•
Follows procedures for correct billing and documentation of services provided. Strives to achieve reliability scores at a prescribed rate.
•
Explains and modifies teaching strategies to accommodate patients with decreased vision, hearing, or mental status.
•
Addresses considerations necessary for the care of patients with special medical conditions.
