Job Summary
The Ends Shell Press Mechanic/Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of high-speed shell presses used in the production of metal container ends. * Operate, monitor, and adjust high-speed shell presses and associated auxiliary equipment to produce metal container ends according to specifications.
* Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of press components.
* Diagnose and resolve basic mechanical and operational issues, perform minor repairs, and assist maintenance technicians with more complex breakdowns.
* Conduct quality checks on finished products, including dimensional measurements and visual inspections, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Load and unload raw materials (coil stock) and finished goods, utilizing appropriate material handling equipment.
* Maintain accurate production records, downtime logs, and maintenance reports.
* Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), machine guarding, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
* Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to optimize production and minimize downtime.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the production area.
* Keep the work area clean and organized, following 5S principles.
