About the role:
Join our team as an enthusiastic Solutions Engineer for our Japan business, where you will serve large clients with diverse use cases. You’ll play a vital role in bridging technical discovery and implementation for our wide range of customers. Your mission is to grasp and articulate customer needs, demonstrating the innovative features of Skydio’s drone product line. You’ll be the pivotal link between the efforts of our product and sales teams to create compelling, customer-specific demonstration plans that bring Skydio technology to life in real-world scenarios. Reporting directly to the Country Manager for Japan, you will collaborate extensively with our Product, Engineering, and Sales departments, contributing to the timely delivery of groundbreaking autonomous solutions.
Solutions Engineers are critical members of the Skydio organization and work closely with Account Executives, Engineering, and Product to support deal progression, customer confidence, successful deployments, and the long-term success of commercial sUAS programs. Internally you are, in every sense, the voice of the customer.
Location: This is an office-based position at our Skydio GK HQ in Tokyo, Japan.Travel of 50 to 75% is required to support customer engagements, field activities, deployments, team onsites, and company events.
How you’ll make an impact:

Foster a deep understanding of customer needs, pinpointing key success metrics, and orchestrating tailored product demonstrations and field trials
•
Independently handle all facets of system demonstrations, from equipment setup and operation to troubleshooting, ensuring a compelling presentation of our technology’s value to customers and partners
•
Lead the charge in system validation and customer implementation processes and successful deployment
•
Assist in crafting responses for RFIs, RFPs, and other technical documentation
•
Act as a voice of the customer within our team, influencing product development and engineering strategies based on field experiences and feedback
•
Support various go-to-market strategies and business activities as needed
